As the spread of the corona virus (COVID-19) is the most serious global health security threat in decades, the N.S.S. department of Aqsa Womens Degree College organized a online webinar on understanding COVID-19 and its preventive measures by Dr. Saud under IQAC on 24TH APRIL 2020, i.e. on Friday sharp 4:30 p.m.
Dr. Oneza Farid, Principal of Aqsa Womens Degree College Welcomed and introduced the speaker. The Session was for 2 hrs. Dr. Saud explained in detail regarding the symptoms and prevention of COVID-19. Dr. Saud explained that Corona viruses are family of viruses that can cause illness such as the common cold, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). In 2019, a new corona virus was identified as the cause of a disease outbreak that originated in China.
Dr. Saud informed that the common sign and symptoms can be fever, cough and tiredness. Early symptoms of COVID-19 may include a loss of taste or smell. Dr. Saud explained that people above the age of 60 have a higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19, and the risk increases with age.
Dr. Saud also educated the preventive measures for COVID-19 that we should maintain social distance, wash hand with soap and water frequently or use alcohol based hand sanitizer that contain at least 60% alcohol, Cover face with a cloth mask face in public, Stay home avoid going to public places.
The webinar was very fruitful and ended with the vote of thanks given by the Dr. Oneza Farid (Principal) of Aqsa Womens Degree College.
