REPORT ON ONLINE ESSAY COMPETITION ON: GENDER EQUALITY AND COVID-19

Considering the pandemic, Covid-19, has put the world on a pause it has been an experience for each and every one across the world. It has taught different people different things. Every institution across the world has had its own learning. The youth and young adults are the hope and the future of life and the world. Aqsa Women’s Degree College too thought of captivating the ideas in the minds and hearts of theirs which are mostly filled with positivity and hope amidst this crisis. 

Aqsa Women’s Degree College with a belief that the power of pen will help overcome isolation and help expand horizons through creativity organized ‘An inter- college Essay Writing Competition, 2020. The competition was organized by the Department of sociology in Collaboration with IQAC.

The competition was open for participants across the country. Where the word limit was 300 to 400 words respectively. The main theme of the competition was GENDER EQUALITY AND COVID-19 participant can free to choose sub theme based on main theme.

The competition was announced on 15th May, 2020. The last date for registration and submission were 30 May, 2020. The result of the competition was announced on 15th June, 2020.

The Organizing Committee was overwhelmed by the response it got. A total of 55 registrations across India were received and over 55 essays were submitted. The Organizing Committee made sure that each essay be evaluated by the expert of that particular topic thus each of the topics was evaluated by the expert of its subject. 

The competition’s most valued attraction was the online certificate to each participants. Three winners and three consolation names has been declared on website of Aqsa women’s degree college as the winners of the contest.

The essays were received from across the country and from the best institutions, including the best many colleges of affiliated to SNDT university.

Aqsa College amidst this Lockdown organized the online Competition, a unique competition of its kind across. It was a fully online, paperless, no movement from home.

Report on Online power point Competition by Department of sociology

Aqsa Women’s Degree College organized ‘an  inter- college online PowerPoint Competition, 2020. The competition was organized by the Department of sociology in Collaboration with IQAC.

Purpose: A visual presentation that is intended to inform the students   about a particular issue that is important to the society & the nation as a whole. The principal objective of event was to enhance students’ knowledge and express their ideas. India is the largest democracy in the world. It is also a big country with lot of human challenges. The major population of India resides in villages which do not get sufficient education support. About 35% of the population is illiterate. Problems like trafficking, exploitation of women commercially and sexually, religious violations, caste related issues are some examples leading to major social issues. For the sake of development in India awareness about social issues is essential. In this respect, some initiative have been taken by Our Institute for promoting social issues through online power point.

The competition was open for participants across the country. Guidelines related with competition was mentioned in brochure. The main theme of the competition was” Social problems in Indian society”, with few sub themes like Corruption, Poverty, Unemployment, Child labour, Illiteracy.

The last date for registration and submission were August, 10th, 2020. The competition’s most valued attraction was the online certificate to each participant.

Report on Online Quiz Competition

Department of Sociology

8th, July, 2020

Department of Sociology in collaboration with IQAC of Aqsa Women’s degree college has organized National level Online Quiz Competition on Indian society

                                          .

The online quiz has no registration fee. It started on 8th July 2020 more than 350 participants attempted. A link was given to participate in this event and E-certificate was issued to the winners on their email.

       Aqsa College received vast participation from students across the different colleges. We appreciate our participant’s patience and look forward for their continued interest in our future events.

Online workshop by department of sociology

On August 25th –26th, 2020, online workshop on paper Industrial Sociology held under the department of sociology. The purpose of the workshop was to increase Sociological about industrial sociology among student and to gain sociological knowledge about industry and changes which took place in society due to industry.

        The guest of the workshop was Dr. Sonakshi Vichare, assistant professor and head of the department of sociology in SNDT college of Arts and SCB, college of commerce and science for   women. The topic was “EVOLUTION OF THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM” under this topic madam has explain manorial.guilt.putting out and factory system of production,

                              It was two days workshop, very interesting sessions was conducted by madam, with different activities and question answer sessions, she explain complete topic with the help of ppt , lots of historical knowledge was gained by students. The session was attended by T.Y.B.A students of Arts faculty.
