Time: 11:00am to1.00 pm

Location: Aqsa Women’s Degree College Bhiwandi

Category: Department of chemistry

Beneficiaries: Student of UG level Science faculty.

Department of chemistry  of Aqsa Women’s Degree College celebrated science Day on  28th Feb 2020.National Science Day is celebrated to commemorate discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’, which led to Indian scientist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman or CV Raman winning the Noble Prize in Physics in 1930.  More than just a celebration ,main  objectives for observing a day for Science are:

  • Spread a message about the Importance of science used in the daily life of the people  by the students
  • Display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare.
  • Discuss all the issues and implement new technologies for development in the field of science.
  • Give an opportunity to the scientific-minded citizen in the country.
  • Encourage students as well as popularize science and technology.

Department of chemistry organized Model making competition on the occasion of NSD .The students of T.Y.B.Sc  and F.Y.B.Sc took part in the competition. The students made models of different stereochemical structures under the guidance of their respective teacherts.

Students participated enthusiastically. They were  rewarded  with prizes.Mrs. momin Fareha (H.O.D OF CHEM DEPT.) AND Mrs vinchu shifa were appointed as a judge.

The event was organized in collaboration with NSS.Mrs Ayesha shaikh  organized the event effeciantly .

Students participated passionately and  beautifully showed  their talents in various  fields.  It was all students efforts and their endeavor, many students came up with new ideas and creativity, it was the best way to memorise the existence of the scientist Dr.C.V Raman. The programme was concluded  by National Anthem and was a grand success.

Time: 9:00am to11.00 pm

Location: Aqsa Women’s Degree College Bhiwandi

Category: Department of chemistry

Beneficiaries: Student of UG level Science faculty .

Chemical rangoli competition was organized by the department of chemistry. The students of science faculty took part in the chemical rangoli competition. In that particular event the student draw n the different chemical structures, periodic table and different aspects of chemistry by rangoli colors.

It was suich an innovative activity done by the science students. In order to encourage the students towards the field of chemistry and make them creative, it was a wonderful activity. The students took great effort and put their chemical thoughts with rangoli.

Students beautifully showed their talents. They participated with the great interest. It was an innovative.colourful and knowledge domain event.Mrs. Momin Fareha, Ms Qazi Hera and Ms Sabrin Ansari organized the event  with the help of chemistry students. The programme was concluded by National Anthem and was a grand success.

Time: 9:00am to1.00 pm

Location: Aqsa Women’s Degree College Bhiwandi

Category: Department of chemistry

Beneficiaries: Student of T.Y.B.Sc

Department of chemistry organized a chart making activity. The students of T.Y.B.Sc took part in the chart making activity. In that particular event the student drawn the different charts related to their subject and syllabus.

The students share their knowledge and put their efforts by making charts on physical, organic, inorganic  and analytical chemistry. The activity was done in group of students and individual participation.

Students draw the charts of instrumentation of physical and analytical instruments and organic reaction mechanism. They also made the chart of polymer chemistry and structure included in inorganic chemistry. The activity was conducted in the class room only. The charts prepared by the students were put on the walls of chemistry lab. The students  actively  participated in the activity and enjoyed an event a lot.

Seminar Report

Date: 13/01/2020

Time: 9:00 am -11:00am

Number of students: 40

 Class: S.Y.B.Sc

Organized by: department of chemistry.(inorganic chem..)

The department of chemistry organized a seminar, the topic of the seminar were chosen by the students on the basis of their syllabus. Students prepared their respective topics.

The topics were from inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry .it was held on 20th September 2017.

The purpose of the seminar was to bring interest amongst the student and to encourage them variety of promote discussion, compare alternative study designs for data collection, share information and approaches to key problems, disseminate and encourage the use of existing sources, and foster the development of new sources.

..       Sessions were organized around common themes, to facilitate discussions and the emergence of new, revised methods of teaching. The topics discussed were:

  • Acid and bases.
  • Chemistry of transition elements.
  • Gravimetric analysis
  • Co ordination chemistry.

Approximately 40 students attended the seminar from S.Y.B.Sc.  The discussion revealed that the problems faced by students by the time of study and to study specific  problems from a different angle. 15 students presented the seminar. The name of those students are:

The topics were very well explained by the students. The question answer  session had done and the students satisfied with  the topics explained by the other students.

Participants also agreed that new studies need to be planned only after having learned from existing methods, their failures and successes, and only after assessing well the contents of tools of data collection. There was emphasis on the need to preserve and enhance data collection that reveals unique aspects of a particular topic.

  Power point presentation

Date: 3/02/2020

Time: 9:00 am -11:00am

Number of students: 40

 Class: T.Y.B.Sc

Organized by: department of chemistry.(inorganic chem./organic chem…)

Power point presentation was organized by the department of chemistry. power point presentation was held on 3 rd  Feb. 2020.it was organized for T.Y.B.Sc  chemistry.

The students of T.Y.B.Sc. prepared their own ppt  with the help of their co coordinator Ms MOMIN FAREHA.all the students prepared their ppt.it was presented very nicely. the topics were from their syllabus.i.e

  • Polymers
  • Carbohydrates
  • Catalyst
  • Heterocyclic compounds
  • Electronic spectra
  • Substitution reaction in octahedral complexes.
  • Bio inorganic chemistry.

The purpose of the power point presentation is to encourage the students towards their further studies  and to overcome the problems arrived while they studied. and to encourage them for self study  and power point making. So that the students learn the new techniques of study.

The students clear their doubts by asking the questions to their respective professors. The students of T.Y.B.Sc fulfill the requirement and solved the problems. it was a very successful  event.
