Jawaharlal Nehru Van Udyan , which is located on the foothills of the Pandavleni Caves it is well maintained garden with different varieties of plants. Connected to it there is water park which make it more attractive.As a part of B.Sc. Curriculum, one day educational trip for F.Y.B.Sc Students to Jawaharlal Nehru Van Udyan, Nashikwas organized by Department of Botany, Aqsa Women’s Degree College, S.N.D.T. University. The Park aims at preserving natural and environmental beauty.
The aim of the trip was to familiarize the students with the different shrubs and flowering plants of the Park such as Agave, palms, Asoka, Mangifera indicia Musa paradisicum, Guava Rose,Lily, Periwinkle, Hibiscus, Ficussps, Silver fern, Fern, etc. A group of 84 students were accompanied by Ms. Darekar Heera of Botany Department. Students were motivated which develop an interest in them to learn through experience and they enjoyed the excursion. The aim of the trip was to make students aware of vast diversified flora of the park.

Report on Science Day Celebration

Location: Aqsa Women’s Degree College, Bhiwandi
Competition on: Model Making
Judges: Mrs. Vinchu Shifa, Mrs. Momin Fareha, Mrs. Ayesha Shaikh.
Beneficiaries: Students of Science Faculty
The Botany Department of Aqsa Women’s Degree College organized a Model making Competition on 28th February 2020 on account of Science Day. All the students of science faculty actively participated and presented different models related to Botany Subject.
The competition was a good opportunity to display the collaborative efforts of students from different Classes. Not only the students have to gather information on the topic but also find innovative ways of putting them across.Its was a great experience and students enjoyed a lot.
The Models encompassed a variety of topic namely:
1) Fisheries
2)Human Genome
3)Natural Spices and Condiments.
4) Smart Home
5) Integrated Farming.
The winners of the competition were as follows:
1st PLACE : Ansari Noorjahan Md. Atiqua nd Group (F.Y.B.Sc)
2nd PLACE :Sayyed Qurratulain and Group(F.Y.B.Sc)
3rd PLACE : Khan Jabeen Ramzan and Group (F.Y.B.A)
The competition was ended with vote of thanks by Mrs. Vinchu Shifa madam followed by national anthem.
